2027 BAH rates: not out yet
The 2027 BAH rates have not been published. The Defense Department usually releases them in mid-December, and they take effect January 1. Until then, your 2026 rate applies.

2027 BAH questions
When will the 2027 BAH rates come out?
They have not been published yet. The Defense Department usually announces the next year’s BAH rates in mid-December, and the new rates take effect on January 1. The exact release date is not announced ahead of time, so we don’t promise one. This page will link the official 2027 rates once they are out.
Will BAH go up in 2027?
Nobody outside the Defense Department knows yet. Rates are set each year for every military housing area from local rent and utility costs, so some areas rise more than others and a few can go down. The official 2027 table is the only reliable answer.
What if my area’s 2027 BAH is lower than 2026?
BAH has individual rate protection: if the rate for your area drops, you generally keep the higher rate as long as you stay at the same duty station and your pay grade and dependency status don’t go down. Your finance office has the final word.
What BAH do I get until the 2027 rates start?
The 2026 rates apply through December 31, 2026. Use the 2026 BAH tool on this page to see your current rate and the rentals near your base that post a rent at or under it.
